Jimmy&Scots Folk Band performs traditional Irish and international folk music, proposing original arrangements of secular and unpublished songs, taking the listener through a time journey into Celtic culture. The project was born in 2013, thanks to the passion for Irish culture of two friends wandering in Dublin during St. Patrick’s week. Starting off as a duo, the band lately became a four-men lineup and started performing in Italy and Europe.
“No Man’s Tales”, their first traditional music album, is released on October 31, 2019. After signing with the “Maxy Sound” label, their second album “Seven Irish Nights” is released on February 24, 2023 and contains the band’s first original track “A Stout For Breakfast”. The band’s live concerts generate different atmospheres, from chilled pub to sailing pirate ship, where the audience is engaged at all time, as active participant of the live performance.
On February 23, 2024, the concept album The Viking Irishman was released, which combines Scandinavian and Irish sounds, in a mix of instruments and vocal harmonies. The album is a journey through time through Celtic and Nordic cultures, retracing historical events that actually happened in Ireland from the Middle Ages to today. The album chronicles several battles that shaped the cultural heritage of the Irish people and begins with the arrival of the Vikings in Ireland in 795. It contains songs such as My Mother Told Me / Drømde Mig En Drøm, the two unreleased The Viking Irishman and High King’s Reel, Follow Me Up To Carlow / Swallowtail Jig and Come Out Ye Black And Tans.
